If you want to increase your values:
  • Spend time in the sun, because sunlight causes your body to produce vitamin D and stimulates the release of serotonin.
  • Eat foods that contain tryptophan, a substance that your body converts into serotonin.

Interview

What is your idea of fun?
Outrigger training when the San Francisco Bay is a little choppy, and discovering something new on every business trip – even if it’s just a walk around the city!

What are your 3 “must-dos” in Sonoma?
Go hiking, visit Vella’s Cheese Factory, buy bread at the boulangerie and have a picnic!
Preferred spa treatment:
A body treatment by a therapist who isn’t afraid to scrub!
Interesting facts about you:
Prior to working in the spa industry, I worked in hotel sales and destination marketing. During my time at VCB Anaheim, I gave presentations to travel wholesalers worldwide featuring Mickey Mouse, Snoopy and Frankenstein (representing the attractions in the area), which always drew a large audience to our presentations! It was definitely fun!
Last year I started paddling competitively again for the He E Nalu Outrigger Canoe Club in San Rafael, California. This was my first time in an outrigger after paddling for the Kihei Canoe Club on Maui for 25 years when I helped open the Grand Wailea Resort in the late 80s.
